50 Cent’s meeting with Tony Buzbee draws attention after Jay-Z accuser’s court reversal

A photograph of 50 Cent with attorney Tony Buzbee has drawn attention online, coming just days after the woman who previously accused Jay-Z of sexual assault formally withdrew those allegations in court.

Buzbee shared the photo on social media after attending a Houston Children’s Charity event with his wife, Frances. In the post, he praised 50 Cent, describing the rapper and entrepreneur as a musician, philanthropist and businessman.

HotNewHipHop reported that the unexpected encounter has attracted interest because of 50 Cent’s history of publicly commenting on the legal dispute involving Jay-Z and Buzbee. The photograph itself, however, does not indicate that 50 Cent has taken a position on Buzbee’s ongoing litigation or that he is involved in the case.

The timing is notable. On Thursday, the woman identified as Jane Doe in court documents filed a declaration in Manhattan federal court saying that her previous allegations against Jay-Z were false and that she had never met or spoken with him. She also said the rapper had never engaged in inappropriate conduct toward her.

The woman had previously accused Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting her when she was 13. She withdrew that lawsuit in 2025, after which Jay-Z launched his own legal action against Buzbee, his law firm and others involved in the original case. Jay-Z has consistently denied the allegations.

Her new attorney, James Blair Newman Jr., said she maintains that she was sexually assaulted but was mistaken in identifying Jay-Z. Buzbee, meanwhile, has disputed her latest account, saying it conflicts with multiple interviews and sworn statements previously provided by the woman.

Jay-Z subsequently dropped Jane Doe as a defendant in his lawsuit, while his claims against Buzbee remain active.

Against that backdrop, Buzbee’s photo with 50 Cent has naturally generated speculation online. But there is no indication from the available reporting that the meeting involved the litigation itself.

The photo comes as the legal battle surrounding Jay-Z enters another significant phase, with the dispute already involving multiple lawsuits, dismissals and conflicting accounts. The encounter appears to have been a public meeting between 50 Cent and the attorney, with no indication that the rapper is formally involved in the case.
