Keke Wyatt allegedly threatened to shoot a woman during custody exchange, warrant says

The singer told police she had the gun but denied pointing it at anyone or making a threat.

R&B singer Keke Wyatt allegedly pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot a woman after an argument broke out during a custody exchange in Georgia, an arrest warrant claims. Wyatt was arrested last week on several charges, three of which she disputes.

The incident happened Sept. 20 after police responded to a reported domestic disturbance, according to an affidavit obtained by TMZ. Two people were exchanging custody of a child when an argument started. Wyatt was there but was not involved in the exchange.

A witness told police Wyatt pulled out a black 9mm Beretta during the confrontation and pointed it through a car window. The witness also accused Wyatt of saying, “Let that b-tch come over here, so I can blow her brains out.”

Wyatt gave police a different account. She told officers she had the gun but denied pointing it through the window or threatening anyone.

Reports about the singer’s arrest also differed on which charges Wyatt faced. TMZ initially reported, citing a Henry County Sheriff’s Office representative, that Wyatt was booked on terroristic threats, simple assault and cruelty to children charges. The outlet said three children were nearby when the confrontation happened.

Wyatt was released two days later after posting a $1,050 bond.

Since the Georgia arrest, Wyatt’s representatives have disputed some of the charges reported in the case. Wyatt’s team said Henry County court records showed only a simple assault charge and denied reports that she had been charged with terroristic threats, aggravated assault or cruelty to children.

Aside from her arrest, Wyatt has remained busy. On Friday, she joined Remy Ma for the release of the rapper’s latest single, “Why I Get Married?” The song hits all too well for both Remy and Wyatt, as the singer has infamously gone through a tumultuous divorce, where she was once arrested on second-degree assault charges for stabbing her then-husband and manager. The charges were ultimately dropped.

“People are going to say what they’re going to say. All I know is the average person isn’t going to stab someone just for the heck of it – my life was in danger,” she told Essence in 2012. “People won’t understand until they walk in my shoes. I felt so bad for what I did, but I couldn’t let it consume me.”

“It was my faith in God, and my family that helped me through this,” Wyatt continued. “Those are the people that really know what happened, and they don’t judge me.”
