Tyler Perry’s ‘Beauty in Black’ is back, and Julian Horton is opening up about what’s next.

The actor, who plays Roy on ‘Beauty in Black’, Tyler Perry’s first episodic series with Netflix, spoke exclusively with That Grape Juice, and let’s just say… fans better buckle up.

Horton teased the new season, making it clear that nothing is off limits:

“I would say, expect the unexpected. I think there’s more chaos, more drama. I think it’s going to be really, really, really, just entertaining for the fan to watch, because the drama heats up.” 

And when he says expect the unexpected, he means it.

The actor revealed that this part of the season was filmed in just three weeks, adding even more intensity to what’s coming.

As previously reported, the show is set to wrap after Season 3, and Horton didn’t shy away from sharing his thoughts on the series coming to an end:

“I don’t know the full totality of everything that’s going to happen with season three. I’m not sure about having a spin-off, but I do know that I think sometimes the jargon that was used for these parts kind of misconstrues the people a little bit. Netflix shows usually get about 40 to 50 episodes, so since we are doing it in parts its really season 4. They don’t drag it out, and I’m appreciative.”

He also got candid about his journey working with Tyler Perry, revealing it didn’t happen overnight.

Horton shared that he auditioned multiple times for Perry, starting back in 2019, landing smaller roles in projects like ‘Bruh’ before finally getting his big break.

According to actor, Perry was simply waiting for the right moment and the right role for him to truly shine.

That role turned out to be ‘Beauty in Black’.

As for when Season 3 will arrive? Horton kept it playful. With a smirk, he admitted he doesn’t know just yet… but it’s safe to say it’ll be sooner rather than later.

Season 2, Part 2 premieres on Netflix March 19.
