Rick Ross has been arrested in Miami, with the Rap mogul facing a felony battery by strangulation charge and a misdemeanor battery charge.

The arrest comes just days after his former girlfriend Jazzma Kendrick publicly accused him of physical abuse. However, authorities have not confirmed that the two matters are connected.

According to TMZ, Ross was taken into custody Thursday morning (October 1) in Miami-Dade County.

The 50-year-old, born William Leonard Roberts, was booked on one count of felony battery by strangulation and one count of misdemeanor battery. Records list both charges as involving domestic violence.

Ross’ bond was set at $5,000 for the felony count and $1,000 for the misdemeanor charge, bringing the total to $6,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned on October 22.

The development follows a turbulent few days for Rozay.

As reported, Kendrick recently shared images of an injured lip and alleged that Ross had physically assaulted her during their on-off relationship.

She later returned with an update, revealing that the alleged incident happened around a month earlier and telling supporters that she was “okay” and healing.

At of writing, it remains unconfirmed whether Kendrick’s allegations are tied to the charges Ross now faces.

The rapper has not publicly addressed her claims, nor has his team issued a remark on the arrest.
