From Keke Palmer and her son to Janelle Monáe, North West, John Legend, and more, we round up our favorite celebrity Halloween costumes so far.

Halloween weekend has finally arrived, and who better to kick things off than the HalloQueen herself, Janelle Monáe?

On Thursday, Oct. 29, the 40-year-old singer and actress hosted her annual “Wondaween” bash in Los Angeles at an undisclosed location transformed into a “Creature Carnival” complete with all manner of monsters, elaborate costumes, and plenty of spooky revelry.

“TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! SEE YOU AT @wondaween 2026: THE CREATURE CARNIVAL!!” she wrote in the caption of a post that included a clip of her behind a dj booth.

“WE GATHER FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD in the name of: COMMUNITY, CREATIVITY, COSTUME & DESIGN, ART, MUSIC, DANCE, SFX, CARE, LOVE, JOY, KINDNESS,” she added.

For the occasion, the “Make Me Feel” singer dressed as the “Amazing Fish-Boy,” an elaborate aquatic creature, after spending the weeks leading up to the bash promoting the festivities as “Piper the Party Starter,” a bizarre green-faced creature with a hypnotic pink eye, matching hair, and a top hat.

“The Age of Pleasure” artist also made her annual appearance on the Halloween episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” where she, alongside Hudson dressed as a butterfly, unveiled her creepy aquatic transformation. Of course, she is hardly the only celebrity going all out this year. From the scary and downright strange to the sultry, nostalgic, and impossibly cute, several Black celebrities have already delivered an impressive assortment of Halloween looks. And with plenty more expected throughout the weekend, we’re rounding up some of our favorites so far below.

Kerry Washington as Kerry Fonda

In a clever play on her own name, Kerry Washington channeled fitness icon Jane Fonda, giving us Kerry Fonda in all her retro aerobics glory.

Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns as White Walkers

Winter came early for Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns, who went all out as the terrifying, icy blue-eyed White Walkers from HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”

Keke Palmer and her son as Janet and Michael Jackson

Perhaps one of the cutest mother-son costumes we’ve seen so far, Keke Palmer and her son, Leo, recreated Janet and Michael Jackson’s futuristic looks from their iconic 1995 music video for “Scream.”

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen as De’Jon Love and Kyle Shanahan

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen took inspiration from one of the NFL’s more bizarre recent scandals, dressing as “De’Jon Love” or Daejon Labrayae Love, the alleged con artist who posed as a San Francisco 49ers player, and the team’s head coach, Kyle Shanahan.

Tierraa and KC as Yvette and Jody from “Baby Boy”

If you know anything about Yvette and Jody’s tumultuous relationship in the 2001 film “Baby Boy,” you know “Love Island US” stars Tierraa and KC had plenty of material to work with when recreating the characters made famous by Taraji P. Henson and Tyrese Gibson.

Mike Gauyo as Martin Luther King Jr. and Rick James

TV writer and content creator Mike Gauyo kicked things off as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. before teasing a considerably funkier look inspired by Rick James.

Carlos King as LL Cool J

With a little old-school hip-hop flair, reality TV producer Carlos King gave his best LL Cool J impression, paying homage to the rapper’s signature throwback style.

Olandria as Naomi Campbell

It’s only fitting that “Love Island US” breakout star Olandria Carthen, who has been making quite the name for herself in fashion, would pay homage to legendary supermodel Naomi Campbell, recreating her iconic 1990 “Seeing Spots” editorial for Vogue, right down to the convertible, polka dots, and Dalmatians.

Sean Bankhead as Eddie Murphy’s iconic characters

Why settle for one Eddie Murphy character when you can be several, as choreographer Sean Bankhead proved with his tributes to the actor’s memorable roles, including in “Vampire in Brooklyn” and “Boomerang.”

Chlöe Bailey as Hot Meg Griffin

Who knew Meg Griffin had it in her? Chlöe Bailey certainly turned up the heat with her take on the “Family Guy” character’s unexpectedly sexy alter ego.

Raven-Symoné and Miranda Pearman-Maday as each other and Green Raven Baxter

While we fully expected to see at least one green Raven Baxter after Raven-Symoné’s controversial comments about her Disney Channel character’s race, we certainly didn’t expect it to come from the actress herself, who dressed as her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, while Pearman-Maday went as a green Raven Baxter for the latest Halloween episode of their podcast “Tea Time,” featuring former “That’s So Raven” costar Kyle Massey.

Serena Page as Raven Baxter

We’ve actually already had at least two interpretations of Raven Baxter this Halloween, including one from “Love Island USA” alum Serena Page, who brought back the beloved Disney Channel character with a nostalgic tribute to her signature early-2000s style.

Winnie Harlow as Britney Spears

Oops, she did it again, or rather Winnie Harlow did, paying homage to pop icon Britney Spears with a look inspired by the singer’s unforgettable style.

Jordan Chiles as Clawdeen Wolf

Leave it to Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles to serve a little monster fabulousness, taking on Clawdeen Wolf, the fashion-loving werewolf from “Monster High.”

Amaya as Queen Akasha from “Queen of the Damned”

All hail the queen, because Amaya Espinal paid homage to Aaliyah’s haunting portrayal of the ancient vampire Akasha in the 2002 cult classic “Queen of the Damned.”

North West as Edward Scissorhands

It’s hardly spooky season without at least one Tim Burton character making an appearance, and North West proved the filmmaker’s creepy creations have successfully made their way to the next generation when she unveiled an elaborate Edward Scissorhands costume, complete with wild hair, ghostly pale makeup, and scissor hands made famous by Johnny Depp in the 1990 film.
