Lizzo and SZA are more than just occasional collaborators; the ‘Special‘ hitmakers are special friends.
And if anyone was looking to challenge the status of that friendship, the latter (born Solana Rowe) recently issued a stern warning to reconsider.
Look inside to see what she said.
Inside the pages of the latest edition of ‘New York‘ magazine (of which Lizzo plays cover girl), Rowe tapped in to throw her full support behind her embattled friend amid ongoing criticism for her alleged role as defendant in a set of fat-shaming, workplace discrimination, and sexual harassment lawsuits.
“It was so weird to watch everybody attack her because it actually had nothing to do with what was going on,” SZA recently told ‘New York’ magazine about Lizzo‘s sexual harassment and workplace discrimination lawsuits. “I think what’s special about my friend is she is a master healer. She is always going to get to the bottom of herself. Nobody cleared her name for her. Nobody could give her that vindication; she gave it to herself. I just felt like she 100 percent genie’d herself through that.”
The nod to her fellow GRAMMY winner came just days before Liz’s appearance on the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game‘ podcast.
While there, the latter chatted with hosts Gillie and Wallo about everything from her latest mixtape ‘My Face STILL Hurts from Smiling‘ to touring plans, the history of music sampling, and more.
During her conversation, she was unexpectedly interrupted by Rowe who dropped in to sing her praises again.
“F*ck anybody that doesn’t f*ck with Lizzo; she’s the best and most smartest and smarter than most of you n*ggas,” she said to the camera jokingly.
