Spotify isn’t staying silent on the streaming fraud allegations that have Drake‘s name swirling in headlines.

The streaming giant has issued a firm response to the class action lawsuit filed by rapper RBX, flatly rejecting claims that the company benefits from artificial streams.

Full story below…

A spokesperson for the platform made it clear that the streamer has no incentive to allow fraudulent activity to flourish.

The company pointed to its “best-in-class systems” designed to combat streaming manipulation, including removing fake streams, withholding royalties from offenders, and charging penalties.

“Spotify in no way benefits from the industry-wide challenge of artificial streaming. We heavily invest in always-improving, best-in-class systems to combat it and safeguard artist payouts.”

There’s more.

The streaming service backed up its defense with receipts.

In a case from 2024, a fraudster was indicted for stealing $10 million from various streaming platforms, but only $60,000 of that came from Spotify. The company drew on this as evidence of how effective their anti-fraud measures actually are.

While the platform acknowledged it can’t comment on pending litigation, the message was clear: they’re turning the volume all the way up on
