‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ continues to etch Shaboozey‘s name alongside record-breaking accomplishments thanks to its ongoing success.

Released as the fourth single from his 2024-released third studio album ‘Where I’ve Been Isn’t Where I’m Going,’ the Nevin Sastry-produced tune currently sits in Billboard Hot 100 history books as the longest-running solo #1 hit of any artist ever (19 weeks).

What’s more, it’s also spent more time in the tally’s top 10 than any other song by a Black artist.

On Monday (September 15), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gave Shaboozey (born Collins Chibueze) even more historic news to celebrate as ‘Tipsy’ officially tip-toed over the Diamond certification threshold. This means it’s sold 10 million copies in the United States alone.

By doing so, he becomes only the third Black country singer to own a single certified as high following Darius Rucker and Kane Brown.  Unlike Brown and Rucker, however, Shaboozey is the first since 2020 to obtain the plaque for a song released this decade.

Among all male vocalists of every genre, Chibueze is now included on a short list of Black men who have a Diamond-certified song – a list that’s led by The Weeknd, Chris Brown, Khalid, Kane Brown, Darius Rucker, and King of Pop Michael Jackson.
