The countdown is officially on for one of the boldest comedy launches the UK has seen in years.

Sky has revealed the full inaugural cast for ‘Saturday Night Live UK,’ the British spin on NBC’s long-running late-night institution.

The six-episode series will air live from London starting March 21, finally bringing the iconic ‘Live from London, it’s Saturday Night!’ moment to British screens.

With a mix of stand-up comics, sketch performers, actors, and musical comedians, the line-up signals serious intent as the format makes its UK debut.

Broadcast weekly on Sky and NOW, the live series will feature topical sketches, guest hosts, musical performances, and a UK-flavoured take on Weekend Update. Each episode is written, rehearsed, and performed in the same week, embracing the anything-can-happen energy that made SNL a cultural force.

The confirmed cast includes Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.

Hammed Animashaun
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
It’s the prestige of Saturday Night Live. To be part of something so popular and historic is a privilege. It would’ve been weird to say no.

What is your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
I’m an actor first and foremost. Theatre is my first love, so being on stage live feels natural. Bringing that into live comedy is something I’m buzzing for.

Ayoade Bamgboye
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
There’s no better training ground. I’m still early in my comedy career and this feels like the fastest way to grow.

What’s your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
I quit advertising to try comedy for a year and it just snowballed. Edinburgh Fringe, meeting other comics, trying everything. Ending up here feels surreal.

Larry Dean
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
I love sketch comedy. So many of my comedy heroes came through SNL, so this is genuinely a dream gig.

What is your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
My roots are in stand-up, but I’ve also worked on sketch shows like The Stand Up Sketch Show. This feels like the perfect blend.

Celeste Dring
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
It was a no-brainer. Being creative with a group of brilliant, funny people on something new is irresistible.

What is your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
I started out in theatre, then moved into comedy with Lazy Susan. Edinburgh Fringe really opened the door.

George Fouracres
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
It was my dream job growing up. I always wished we had something like this in the UK, so being part of it now blows my mind.

What is your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
I’ve spent years at Shakespeare’s Globe, but I also started in a sketch group and later stand-up. I love playing big, intense characters.

Ania Magliano
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
Working collaboratively with other comics was a huge draw. Plus, going live on Saturday nights is mad in the best way.

What is your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
I started stand-up at 18 and never stopped. I’m excited to bring that voice into sketches.

Annabel Marlow
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
I’ve been obsessed with SNL for years. It combines everything I love, including music and characters.

What is your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
My background is musical comedy and stand-up. Edinburgh Fringe really shaped what I do.

Al Nash
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
It’s huge for UK comedy. A new sketch format with global recognition feels massive.

What is your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
I started in university sketch groups and moved into live and online sketches.

Jack Shep
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
Making a show in a week and doing it live is wild. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

What is your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
I do a bit of everything. Acting, writing, being stupid. That feels very SNL.

Emma Sidi
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
Character comedy is my thing, and this is a chance to bring that energy back to TV in a big way.

What’s your background in live performance or sketch comedy?
I’ve done sketch, improv and character comedy for years. Live performance is where the magic is.

Paddy Young
Why did you want to be part of the SNL UK cast?
It feels like the most exciting thing to happen in UK comedy in ages. The scale is bonkers.

I grew up obsessed with comedy and theatre. It took a while to get on stage myself, but I never looked back.
