Peter Thomas is no longer behind bars, but he is not exactly back to business as usual either.

The former ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ personality, known to many as the ex-husband of Cynthia Bailey, has officially been released from federal prison. However, while his prison stint appears to be over, his legal journey is still unfolding.

According to the Bureau of Prisons, Thomas has been released from FCI Miami and is now under community confinement supervision through the Miami Residential Reentry Management Office.

Per TMZ, it means the former RHOA star is either residing in a residential reentry center, commonly known as a halfway house, or serving out the remainder of his sentence in home confinement.

The change in surroundings has already been felt. The reality star took to Instagram to post a video of himself dancing to T.I.’s latest hit’Let ‘Em Know.’ Perhaps signaling a celebration of sorts.

Thomas pleaded guilty in December 2024 to one count of failing to pay trust fund taxes. Prosecutors said he owed approximately $650,000 in employee withholding taxes tied to a Charlotte restaurant. He was sentenced to 18 months and reported to prison in August 2025.

He is scheduled for full release in August 2026, after which he will begin two years of supervised release. Court orders also require him to pay $2.5 million in restitution and avoid excessive alcohol or narcotics.
