Trina Braxton is mourning the devastating loss of her husband, Von Scales.

The businessman and familiar face to viewers of the Braxton family’s reality shows has died aged 58.

A representative for the Braxton family confirmed the sad news to TMZ, sharing:

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Von Scales, beloved husband of Trina Braxton.”

The family added that they are appreciative of the prayers and well wishes being sent their way, while asking for privacy as they process the loss.

Sources close to the family told the publication that Scales passed away at approximately 2 AM on October 1 in Atlanta.

While he had been battling well-documented heart issues problems, an official cause of death has not been disclosed.

Braxton and Scales tied the knot in December 2019 after meeting through mutual friends. Their relationship subsequently became part of the family’s reality TV story, first on ‘Braxton Family Values’ and later ‘The Braxtons.’

So, too was his health issues.

The loss comes after Trina previously mourned the 2018 death of her ex-husband Gabe Solis, who passed away following a battle with cancer. At the time, the singer shared a heartfelt tribute reflecting on his place in her family’s life.

More recently, Trina has continued sharing her journey alongside sisters Toni, Tamar, and Towanda on ‘The Braxtons’.
