Octavia Spencer has added Emmy gold to her awards collection.

As reported in our 2026 Emmys Night 1 winners roundup, the Oscar-winning actress was among the stars celebrating at Saturday’s ceremony (September 5).

For Spencer, the evening brought a career first.

The star won Outstanding Narrator for ‘Lost Women of Alaska,’ with her work on the episode ‘The Missing’ earning the honor.

Per the Television Academy, it marks her first win from three nominations.

This year’s competition included Jodie Foster for ‘Breakdown: 1975’, Werner Herzog for ‘Ghost Elephants’, and David Attenborough, who earned nods for both ‘Ocean with David Attenborough’ and ‘A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough.’

Spencer previously competed in the category in 2024 for fellow Investigation Discovery series ‘Lost Women of Highway 20.’

Her first Emmy nomination came in 2020, when her portrayal of Madam C.J. Walker in Netflix’s ‘Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker’ earned her a Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie nod.
