The battle over The Notorious B.I.G.‘s legacy has taken another dramatic turn.

C.J. Wallace, the late Hip-Hop icon’s son, is challenging a major change to his grandmother Voletta Wallace’s estate plan, claiming she was pressured into signing the amendment just 15 days before her death.

Voletta signed the contested document on February 6, 2025, before passing away on February 21.

The amendment removed C.J. and Carol Sampson as successor trustees and co-executors and instead placed Biggie’s former manager Wayne Barrow in those roles.

Per Complex, C.J.’s filing questions whether his grandmother was in a condition to make such a significant change, citing her declining health and medications at the time. He also wants the signatures on the amendment examined, alleging they appear inconsistent.

He is asking a Pennsylvania court to invalidate the amendment and remove Barrow from control of the estate.

The challenge comes amid a wider legal wrangle surrounding Biggie’s business interests.

As reported, Barrow recently scored a separate court victory against Faith Evans involving proceeds from the rapper’s catalog.

For now, C.J.’s claims remain allegations and a judge has not ruled that Voletta was improperly influenced.
