According to newly released chart data, the King of Pop’s solo catalog pulled in a record-breaking 137.5 million official on-demand streams in the United States during the week of April 24 through April 30. The figure marks the biggest streaming week of his career and represents a massive jump from previous highs.

The renewed interest has also translated directly onto the charts.

Jackson’s iconic album ‘Thriller’ has rocketed back into the top 10 of the Billboard 200, landing at No. 7, while compilation set ‘Number Ones’ climbed to No. 13. The soundtrack for ‘Michael’ also debuted inside the chart’s top 40.

Elsewhere, classics such as ‘Billie Jean’ are finding fresh momentum again, with the smash hit returning to the Hot 100.

The streaming explosion extends beyond the singer’s solo material, too. Music released alongside his brothers as part of the Jackson 5 and The Jacksons also saw major gains across digital platforms in the wake of the film’s release.

The Antoine Fuqua-directed movie, which stars Jaafar Jackson in the title role, has remained one of the year’s biggest movie events despite controversy surrounding its handling of the child abuse allegations that shadowed the singer’s later years.

Still, audiences continue showing up in seismic numbers. Industry estimates suggest ‘Michael’ could ultimately surpass the $1 billion mark globally, with the movie’s ending heavily teasing a possible sequel centered on the entertainer’s later career years.
