Megan Thee Stallion has provided an update to concerned fans (and really everybody) after she became ill during a performance of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” on Tuesday night in New York City and was taken to a nearby hospital. The Broadway performance was briefly halted when she nearly fainted during the show’s opening moments. The incident came just days after the Houston native made history as the first woman to portray Harold Zidler.
On Instagram, Meg is reassuring supporters that she’s on the mend while also letting folks know what happened.
“Last night was a real wake-up call for me,” she wrote. “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough.”
During the performance, the show paused after Megan appeared in the opening scenes. An alternate performer stepped in to finish the production while the rapper was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Now, the “Savage” artist says she plans to take a brief pause to focus on her health before returning to the stage.
“I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t. Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down,” she shared before letting folks know she’ll be back soon. “I’m taking today to rest, reset, and take care of myself.”
Megan added that she expects to return to the Broadway production Thursday, promising fans she’ll be back “stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100%.”
Since the scare, fans and fellow celebrities have flooded social media with messages of love and encouragement. For many supporters, Megan’s candid update serves as a reminder that even the most hardworking stars need time to rest and recharge.
