Lil Nas X made his first court appearance following his arrest back in August, and is doing amazing, according to his lawyer.

The ‘Old Town Road’ performer appeared in court Monday (November 17), after his release from an inpatient treatment program he checked into after his arrest.

While in court, he had a smile on his face, and the judge signed a protective order that covers the transfer of discovery in his case.

The GRAMMY-winning artist’s lawyer, Drew Findling, expresses how well he’s doing. He states:

“As you can see, Montero is doing amazing, doing great and we’re super happy for him. We’re looking forward to a positive resolution in this case, which we’re very confident of'”

The star was absent from his previous court date in September due to his undergoing inpatient treatment at the time. After that hearing, Findling stated that they’re doing everything in the ‘INDUSTRY BABY’ MC’s best interest.

He said:

‘We’re doing what is best for [Lil Nas X] from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly, for his well-being…He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. He’s had a great life, and he’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s going to get over’.

The star is due back in court on March 12 and is facing 5 years in prison if convicted.
