It’s been years since Brandy and Kim Burrell sent their respective fan bases into a frenzy after teasing plans to make a collaboration happen, but now it’s looking like the latter is ready to set something in stone.

Burrell may have been the brunt of mixed critical reception over the last decade for everything from anti-LGBT rhetoric to primadonna pulpit antics, calling for the forgiveness of R. Kelly and Diddy, and more, but her talent and influence over some of R&B’s most prominent voices remains undeniable.

Among those singers are Brandy, Beyonce, and Jazmine Sullivan – three of the genre’s leading divas who have at one time name-dropped Kim as a direct inspiration for their approach to singing.

While recently visiting the podcast of fellow Gospel superstar Isaac Carree, Burrell waxed honest about her desire to finally get one or all the ladies on a future project.

“I’m not going to be content until I do the song that I deserve to sing with Brandy, Jazmine, and Beyonce,” she told Carree on ‘The Isaac Carree Show.’

Kim later clarified the collaboration does not have to be one-for-all.

“We don’t have to make it an all-in-one song, but I would love it. I want to sing with all of them,” she said before acknowledging how each of them have revered her in the past.

Given that Beyonce, Brandy, and Jazmine are all rumored to be working on their next projects, the timing of Burrell’s request just may be apt.

At writing, however, none of the ladies have publicly responded to the Gospel legend’s statement.
