Price may have earned support from prized fighter Claressa Shields for her controversial take on Black women, but the fight against detractors continues aboard the R&B diva’s social media handles.

While some critics have called her out for singling out the demographic, others have slammed her for some of her own “disrespectful” antics as displayed on the 2013 reality series ‘R&B Divas: LA.’

Regardless, Kelly took to social media this week to confirm she’s not bowing to the pressure and criticism.

“I won’t apologize for having an opinion; I won’t apologize for having a voice. I will not apologize for expressing if I feel hurt,” she shared.

And while she was pretty firm about maintaining the stance displayed in her now-viral rant, she did show remorse for the excessive profanity used in it.

“The biggest regret I do have about that were some of my choices of words. It’s not because anybody shamed me, [but it’s because] if I had to say the exact same thing in the exact same way in front of my grandmother I wouldn’t be able to do it,” Price said.

Elsewhere in the chat, the 9-time GRAMMY nominee reflected on another time she felt disrespected in the music industry – specifically in 1998 when a music executive slammed her in favor of Mya.

A then-up-and-coming R&B songstress, Price says the man compared her “big, fat” appearance to the “light-skinned, long-haired” singer who was on the rise with her debut single ‘It’s All About Me’ and claimed she couldn’t compete with her thinner counterpart.

“This [story] isn’t about coming against her, [but my debut album ‘Soul of a Woman‘] outsold hers by nearly 30-40,000 records first week,” Kelly relayed declaring herself the victor in the situation.

Commenters on the livestream immediately began slamming the ‘As We Lay’ diva for naming Mya in the reflection despite the ‘Case of the Ex’ singer not being present at the time of the alleged incident; Price quickly clapped back.

“There’s no shade to any artist – that’s why I didn’t want to call her name,” Kelly said before later sharing, “I’m not going to have a negative Mya conversation. She’s an amazing artist who had great music and she’s beautiful.”
