Zaire Wade, the eldest son of NBA legend Dwyane Wade, has been arrested in Burbank on suspicion of felony domestic violence.

Why Was Zaire Wade Arrested?

According to NBC4 Investigates, police were called to a home at around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday after a 911 call was made reporting that a woman was screaming.

When officers arrived, sources told the outlet that they found Zaire and a woman who had lacerations on her face and body.

After speaking with those involved, officers arrested the 24-year-old on suspicion of felony domestic violence, criminal threats, and false imprisonment.

Paramedics reportedly responded to check on the woman, though she was not transported to a hospital. Authorities also said a handgun was taken from the home following the arrest.

Police issued an emergency protective order. Zaire later posted $50,000 bond and was released the same day.

The case is now expected to be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.

Zaire previously played basketball at Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles and has spent time in the G League and with teams overseas.

As of writing, neither Zaire nor his family has publicly commented on the arrest.
