Kandi Burruss‘ songwriting resume may boast big names like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Usher, TLC, Boyz II Men, and Solange, but there’s one name the Xscape star says she’d jump at the opportunity to collaborate with again: P!nk.
Linked to the Pop diva for writing multiple tracks on her 2000 debut album ‘Can’t Take Me Home,’ Burruss is most famously the penwoman behind the LP’s lead single ‘There You Go‘ (which peaked at #7 on the Hot 100 at the height of its popularity).
During a recent sit down with ‘Entertainment Tonight (ET),’ Kandi not only reflected on her time with the ‘Just Give Me a Reason’ songstress (born Alecia Moore) but asserted she wouldn’t mind a new reason for more studio time with her in the future.
Hot on the promo trail for producing Broadway’s 2025 run of ‘Othello,’ Burruss dropped by ‘ET’ to chat about everything from the Denzel Washington-led play to her career-at-large.
While going down memory lane to discuss some of the biggest hits she’s penned, the ‘Housewives’ star reflected on her days of writing for P!nk and how material from the Pop diva’s first album is currently having a moment on Tik Tok.
“It’s so funny because [“There You Go”] is so different from the music she did after ‘Can’t Take You Home,’ but [she still] kills,” Burruss said to resident anchor Brice Sander while reflecting fondly on her time with Moore. “But, I would love to work with her in her current era and the music she does now.”
Later in the conversation, Sander quizzed the singer-songwriter-actress about who else she would like to pen new hits for.
“I’ve always wanted to work with Rihanna even though I know she hasn’t put anything out in a minute,” Kandi shared before jokingly asking about where the Bajan hitmaker’s long-awaited ninth studio album is. “I would love to work with her and have her finally drop something new.”
P!nk and Rih aren’t the only chart-topping divas Burruss has her eye on, however.
“I want to go back in with Beyonce too. We’ve already worked together [when she was in Destiny’s Child], but I w0uld love to work with her on the current era,” she said to Sander.
That’s not all Kandi said. Click PLAY on the video above to watch the full clip.
