Justin Timberlake made a surprise return to the stage.

The singer joined Don Toliver on stage during his Miami concert on August 22 to perform his 2002 hit, ‘Rock Your Body.’

The appearance marked JT’s first in several months. He posted highlights on his Instagram, joking about his spontaneous decision to perform.

“I just wanted to watch the show from the VIP.”

He then cut to a SpongeBob SquarePants title card reading “a few moments later,” followed by footage of him on stage with Toliver.

Timberlake last performed at the Recording Academy Honors in January to celebrate fellow collaborator Pharrell Williams. That performance came after he announced in July 2025 that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease, amongst other health issues he had been facing.

He wrote about his struggles at the time. He said:

“Living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically. When I first got the diagnosis, I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue, or sickness.”

The chart-topper has largely stayed out of the public eye since his health revelation. The Miami appearance could indicate that he’s slowly but surely going to return to the stage.
