Jussie Smollett and Karamo Brown tour Obama Presidential Center together

The pair received a guided visit connected to Brown’s longstanding work with the Obama Foundation.

Jussie Smollett and Karamo Brown are already taking their newfound relationship to new spaces.

The two toured the Obama Presidential Center together during a private visit to the newly opened Chicago campus. Guides at the Obama Center gave the pair a close look at exhibits honoring Barack and Michelle Obama while placing their relationship back in the public eye.

The actor and television personality were spotted at the center on Thursday, according to TMZ. They viewed portraits of the former president and first lady and walked through the campus with a member of Obama’s team.

The visit appears to have come through Brown’s longstanding connection to the Obama Foundation rather than a direct invitation from Barack Obama. A spokesperson told TMZ that Brown has been “a great partner” to the organization for nearly a decade.

Brown was a featured speaker at the foundation’s 2018 summit and has worked with the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, an initiative focused on expanding opportunities for boys and young men of color.

“We were pleased to welcome him and his party to the Obama Presidential Center,” the spokesperson said.

Brown had previously confirmed that he was dating a celebrity without naming names, telling a podcast audience that he believed his partner could become his husband and “forever person.”

Their guided Chicago visit came just over a month after the Obama Presidential Center opened to the public. The 19.3-acre campus sits in Jackson Park on Chicago’s South Side and includes a museum, public library branch, gardens, artwork and community spaces.

The museum traces the lives and public service of Barack and Michelle Obama while highlighting the people and movements that shaped their journey.

For Smollett, the visit also marked a return to the city where he spent years working on “Empire.” This outing, however, centered on the new presidential campus and Brown’s longstanding work with the Obama Foundation.
