JoJo celebrates major Seeker Music catalog deal

JoJo is taking a celebratory trip down memory lane. And this time, she’s doing so on decidedly different terms.

As her sophomore album, ‘The High Road,’ turns 20, the vocal powerhouse has announced a major new partnership with Seeker Music that brings together the original and re-recorded versions of her first two albums.

And the milestone is being marked with a deluxe release, a fresh take on her signature smash ‘Too Little Too Late,’ and more surprises on the horizon.

Full story below…

Announced today (October 23), the deal sees Seeker acquire the original recordings of 2004’s ‘JoJo’ and 2006’s ‘The High Road,’ alongside the versions the singer independently re-recorded in 2018.

The latter will now be known as the ‘Clover Room Editions.’

It’s a particularly meaningful development given JoJo’s long and turbulent history with former label Blackground Records.

Indeed, as we reported, the songbird previously encouraged listeners to stream her re-recordings rather than the original albums because of the complicated rights situation.

Now, both editions are united under one roof with her involvement.

Reflecting on the partnership, the 35-year-old said:

“I appreciate the care they’ve taken in understanding what this music means to me and to my fans. It feels full-circle to have both versions of these albums together with a team committed to finding new ways to amplify it.”

The announcement coincides with today’s release of ‘The High Road (20th Anniversary Edition).’

Alongside the original album and four additional tracks from its 2006 editions, the deluxe features ‘Acepto La Realidad (Versión Acústica),’ a newly recorded Spanish acoustic rendition of ‘Too Little Too Late.’

And speaking of that timeless bop, JoJo famously delivered a stunning acoustic performance of the song exclusively for That Grape Juice’s ‘The Splash.’

The anniversary celebrations will continue when JoJo kicks off her ‘The High Road: 20 Years Unplugged’ tour on November 13 in Boston.

Meanwhile, Seeker is already working on archival music and visual releases, as well as a new single built around JoJo’s music in collaboration with an unnamed electronic act.

With her early catalog entering a fresh chapter, it’s only fitting to revisit more of the powerhouse’s exclusive TGJ performances.

Indeed, in 2016, JoJo returned to ‘The Splash’ for a special London showcase filmed before an intimate audience of her biggest supporters.

The songstress delivered a spellbinding rendition of ‘Save My Soul’ and brought the house down with ‘When Love Hurts.’

The latter performance also featured an unforgettable moment when JoJo helped a fan propose to his girlfriend live during the show.

And for another dose of vocal brilliance, revisit her stirring rendition of ‘Demonstrate’ from her 2012 visit to ‘The Splash.’
