Jennifer Hudson is basking in her romance with Common and has quite the word to describe it: “divine.”

The EGOT winner opened up about her relationship with the rapper during an appearance on ‘TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle,’ where she also got candid about whether marriage is a priority for her.

Speaking on the October 6 episode, Hudson beamed when reflecting on her four-year relationship with the rapper.

“It’s been divine, every bit of that.”

The ‘Spotlight’ songbird went on to praise the support the pair offer each other personally and professionally, pointing to the MC joining her on stage at Madison Square Garden for ‘Glory’ and his ability to step in on her daytime show when needed.

However, when the conversation turned to walking down the aisle, J.Hud made clear that she isn’t operating on anyone else’s timetable:

“I’ve never been that girl that feels like, ‘Okay, I’ve gotta get married.’”

She stressed that marriage is not off the table, but pushed back against the expectation that it should automatically be the end goal for women.

The remarks make for an interesting counterpoint to Common’s own comments. As reported, the Hip-Hop veteran previously declared that if he were to marry, Hudson would be the woman he’d choose.

The Chicago natives, who first sparked romance chatter in 2022, officially confirmed their relationship in 2024.
