Gayle King is staying firmly in her morning anchor role.

After months of speculation suggesting the veteran broadcast journalist might be stepping away from the network due to ratings talk, King has officially set the record straight. 

The award-winning news staple has signed a new deal with CBS News and will remain at the anchor desk of CBS Mornings for the foreseeable future.

Addressing the rumors head-on, King made it clear she’s not going anywhere.

“Rumors of my demise were inaccurate and greatly exaggerated.

CBS News is my longtime home, and I am committed to our mission. I’m excited about continuing at ‘CBS Mornings.’ As always, I’m open to new adventures here and ready to go. It took a minute, but we got there. And now that we are here, I am all in.”

Although ratings reports show the show drew a total audience of just under 1.78 million viewers, according to Nielsen, the competition remains stiff in the morning show world. 

The ‘Today Show’ brought in around 3.2 million viewers, while ‘Good Morning America’ averaged about 3.1 million.

Gayle isn’t clocking out; she’s locked in for this new era of the news business.
