Release details around ‘Hedda’ starring Tessa Thompson have been unveiled.

The Nia DaCosta flick follows a woman at her breaking point.

Hedda Gabler, played by Thompson, finds herself caught between her unresolved past and unbearable present. As Hedda is trapped in a marriage and a house she doesn’t want.

This will be DaCosta’s TIFF debut, and the ‘Creed’ actress Thimpson is credited as a producer as well.

The ensemble cast includes Imogen Poots, Tom Bateman, Nicholas Pinnock, and Nina Hoss.

‘Hedda’ joins a slate of premieres at TIFF with Alejandro Amenábar’s ‘The Captive’, Steven Soderbergh’s ‘The Christophers’, Sung-hyun Byun’s ‘Good News’, and Chandler Levack’s ‘Mile End Kicks’.

The festival will run from September 4 through September 14.

The film will premiere on October 29 on Prime Video.
