The highly anticipated concert at Mercedes-Benz Stadium drew criticism from attendees who reported lengthy delays, technical issues and a rushed performance.

A major concert outing turned into a frustrating experience for some fans in Atlanta after attendees at Chris Brown and Usher’s opening-night performance reported lengthy delays, sound problems and a show that allegedly ended before they expected.

The complaints followed the November 5 stop of “The R&B Tour” at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where the two R&B stars launched a five-date run in the city. What was billed as a major joint concert experience instead became a talking point online, with several attendees questioning whether the performance lived up to expectations.

The venue had advertised a 7:30 p.m. start, with gates opening at 6 p.m. However, concertgoers who shared their experiences on Threads claimed the headliners did not appear until much later. One attendee put the delay at approximately two hours and 40 minutes, while others described waiting close to three hours.

Atlanta television station 11Alive highlighted the growing frustration in a report about fans who were unhappy with the concert experience. The Jasmine Brand also documented several social media reactions, including one attendee who described the night as an “absolute mess” and alleged that the performers cut about an hour from the planned show.

The criticism was not limited to the late start. Some attendees complained that the sound quality made parts of the performance difficult to enjoy, while others felt the overall production was rushed and poorly organised. Several also expressed disappointment that Brown and Usher allegedly did not perform together as much as they had anticipated.

The concert reportedly ended around midnight, prompting some fans to suggest that a local noise restriction or city ordinance had forced an early finish. However, that explanation has not been independently confirmed, and neither the venue nor local authorities have publicly established that an ordinance was responsible for the reported ending.

The absence of the expected joint performances also prompted speculation about possible tension between the singers. Some social media users suggested that a disagreement backstage may have contributed to the delay. There is, however, no verified evidence that the entertainers had an argument, and those claims should not be treated as fact.

The Atlanta engagement carries particular significance for the tour. Mercedes-Benz Stadium announced in August that demand had prompted the addition of a fifth performance, making the city the first stop on the tour to host five dates at the venue.

With more Atlanta dates scheduled, the opening-night reaction has placed attention on whether subsequent performances will meet fans’ expectations. Neither singer has issued a detailed public response to the specific complaints described by attendees.
