Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly back in solitary confinement as questions continue to swirl around allegations that the music mogul received special treatment while serving his federal prison sentence.
According to Page Six, Combs was reportedly moved back to the special housing unit at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey following an NBC News report detailing allegations about his life behind bars.
That report, based on interviews with four inmates and photos and videos reportedly obtained inside the facility, alleged that Combs had fellow inmates prepare meals, clean and do laundry for him. Other allegations included access to massages, alcohol and unauthorized electronic devices, including a cellphone and tablet.
One inmate described the alleged arrangement to NBC News as unusual, saying, “This is not some normal s—t you see in jail. This is some rich s—t.”
The reports also alleged that Combs used a contraband cellphone to access Instagram and that premium liquor was being brought into the facility. Page Six reported that inmates claimed Combs paid other prisoners for various services.
Combs’ representative, however, strongly disputes the characterization of his time in prison.
As theGrio previously reported, representative Juda Engelmayer said, “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court’s decision on his appeal.”
The Bureau of Prisons has declined to comment specifically on Combs’ housing status or the allegations, citing privacy and security concerns. The agency did acknowledge that contraband, including cellphones, narcotics and weapons, remains an ongoing challenge inside federal correctional facilities.
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex-trafficking charges brought against him. His projected release date is currently Jan. 21, 2028.
