A rep for Diddy has issued a scathing statement over 50 Cent’s new documentary on Netflix, alleging that the streaming service aired “unauthorized” material, including private moments that were never intended for public release.

In an exclusive statement posted by ‘The Breakfast Club’ host Loren Lorosa, Diddy’s team claims Netflix is escalating the core issue by letting 50 shape the narrative despite his decades of mocking the embattled mogul, posting “fabricated accusations,” and openly celebrating his legal troubles. They say:

“We have confirmed that Netflix used footage that was never authorized for release – including private moments, pre-indictment material from an unfinished project, and conversations involving legal strategy that were not intended for public viewing. The footage was created for an entirely different purpose, under an arrangement that was never completed, and no rights were ever transferred to Netflix. A payment dispute between outside parties does not create permission for Netflix to use unlicensed, private material. None of this footage came from Mr. Combs or his team, and its inclusion raises serious questions about how it was obtained and why Netflix chose to use it.”

They continued:

“50 cent is a longtime public adversary who has mocked Mr. Combs for decades, posted fabricated accusations, and publicly celebrated his legal challenges. Even Mr. Jackson has admitted he was ‘shocked’ Sean ever filmed some of these moments, which underscores that the footage is being exploited for entertainment rather than presented with fairness or context.”

When Lorosa asked whether the unseen footage could impact Diddy’s appeal, his team replied:

“It can’t effect his appeal legally. But judges are human and maybe they get some emotional spirit out of this. And render a decision based on some of that. Beyond the legal concerns, Mr. Combs views Netflix’s decision as a personal breach of trust. He has long respected Ted Sarandos, admired the legacy of Clarence Avant, and maintained a positive personal relationship with the company’s leadership. For Netflix to hand his story to someone who has publicly attacked him for decades feels, to Mr. Combs, like an unnecessary and deeply personal affront. He expected fairness — at minimum — from people he considered colleagues.”

Beyond the legal fight, Diddy reportedly sees this as a deep personal betrayal. He even began developing his own documentary with the platform before pulling out over creative control. His team stresses they haven’t seen the full doc, only the clips aired on Good Morning America, but say the situation already reflects “reckless disregard, not journalism.”

With the docuseries still currently set to release on December 2, stay tuned to see what happens next.
