The former housekeeper, named Maria Avila, is suing Brown after being mauled by a dog in his home and Avila is pushing back against efforts to block references to the singer’s 2009 assault case involving Rihanna.

According to TMZ, Brown’s legal team argues that bringing up incidents from over a decade ago is irrelevant and could unfairly sway a jury. Meanwhile, the plaintiff insists that the history could be key in challenging his credibility.

Brown denies any wrongdoing, maintaining that the incident was provoked.
