In flying atop the tally, ‘The Romantic’ becomes Mars’ first ever album to debut in pole position.
So, how do the numbers stack up?
The set launches with 186,000 equivalent album units, securing his second career #1 and first in more than a decade.
Here is how the opening week numbers stack up:
93,500 Pure Sales
90,500 Streaming Units
2,000 TEA Units
Streaming served as one of the LP’s central sales engines, thanks to 93.95 million on-demand streams of its 9 tracks.
Physical formats played a major role, too. Indeed, vinyl accounted for 48,000 copies across 10 different variants. That figure delivers the singer’s biggest vinyl week to date.
The total sum, while not too shabby at all, is notably the crooner’s lowest sales opening sans his first album.
Still, with a #1 single under his belt with lead offering ‘I Just Might,’ and focus cut ‘Risk It All’ running up the numbers, too, it’s exciting times for Mr. Mars and the Hooligans.
