Bad Bunny has been blazing stages across the globe on his ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’ world tour. Yet, many have been scratching their head as to why the superstar skipped North America.

And in a new interview with i-D Magazine, he reveals why.

Speaking with the publication, he insisted the absence of the U.S. from his itinerary wasn’t out of “hate.”

He said:

“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate – I’ve performed there many times,. All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent.”

Expanding on the matter, the performer signified concerns over the recent U.S. immigration crackdown, which he says played a role in the move.

He added:

“But there was the issue of — like, f*cking ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

The Puerto Rican artist has been wrapping up a sold-out residency on the island and will, thereafter, kick off his global tour on November 21 in Santo Domingo, before heading across Latin America, Europe, Australia, Japan, and Mexico.

Suffice it to say, even with the omissions, Benito remains booked and busy.
