The actress debuted her baby bump at the New York premiere of her upcoming Apple TV crime drama, “Nocturne.”

Zazie Beetz is expecting her first child with husband David Rysdahl. The actress revealed her baby bump Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the New York City premiere of her upcoming Apple TV crime series “Nocturne.” The red-carpet announcement follows Uzo Aduba’s Tony Awards reveal in 2023 and Wunmi Mosaku’s Golden Globes reveal earlier this year.

Beetz, 35, attended the event with Rysdahl, a 39-year-old actor and screenwriter, who posed with a hand on her belly. People reported Wednesday that she wore a striped two-piece outfit from designer Maximilian Raynor’s spring 2027 collection.

The couple began dating in 2014 after meeting at an acting workshop and married in Germany in 2023. They have appeared together in “Dead Pigs,” “Nine Days” and an episode of “Black Mirror.” They also founded the production company Sleepy Poppy.

On “Nocturne,” they also serve as executive producers. Apple credits Beetz through Sleepy Poppy and lists Rysdahl among the show’s executive producers.

Zazie Beetz has spoken openly about wanting children. In a 2022 interview with ELLE, she said, “Since I was very young I had a strong calling of wanting to be a mother.” She also discussed her interest in midwifery and women’s health.

Beetz earned an Emmy nomination for playing Van on FX’s “Atlanta.” Her film credits include “Deadpool 2,” “Joker” and the Netflix western “The Harder They Fall.”

The pregnancy announcement did not include a due date or the baby’s sex.

In “Nocturne,” Beetz plays FBI agent Saga Bauer, the surrogate daughter of Liev Schreiber’s character Jonah Lynn, a former soldier turned homicide detective, while Stephen Graham portrays serial killer Jurek Walter. The 10-episode crime drama, adapted from Lars Kepler’s novel “The Sandman,” follows Jonah’s efforts to protect his family as he pursues the killer. It premieres Oct. 30 on Apple TV with two episodes, followed by weekly releases through Dec. 25.
