The streaming giant has set a premiere date of January 13, 2026, with Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor Anthony Anderson stepping in as host.

After being off the air for 20 years, the reimagined series is drawing on the show’s legendary legacy, which helped launch the careers of superstars like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Dave Chappelle, and Adam Sandler.

Episodes will air live on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM PT, featuring real-time voting that lets viewers help determine which contestants move forward.

Fusing the nostalgic with the fresh, ‘Star Search’ is primed to captivate both longtime fans and a whole new generation.

The revamped format will spotlight the best up-and-coming performers across multiple categories, including music, dance, variety, comedy, magic, and juniors, as they compete head-to-head for their shot at stardom.
