Tyler Perry‘s ‘Why Did I Get Married’ franchise is back for a third outing and, as reported, this time on Netflix.

Long-anticipated, the revival of the narrative – which birthed hugely popular movies ‘Why Did I Get Married’ and its sequel ‘Why Did I Get Married Too’ – will bring with it a cast shake-up.

While it looks like Janet Jackson won’t be in the mix this go round, Taraji P. Henson has been onboarded.

She joins the returning cast which includes Perry, Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker, and Sharon Leal. 

Per Netflix, the “threequel” sees the couples reunite in celebration as Marcus (White) and Angela’s (Smith) daughter gears up to head down the aisle herself.

After a lengthy spell away from each other, the pair quickly learn that their ways have rubbed off on their children and explore the central question: Why did they get married … again?

With production underway, the cast is hyping up the masses with a sneak tease.
