At long last, music royal Stevie Wonder is returning with a new album.

On Thursday (July 23), the 75-year-old legend announced his first studio album in 22 years is coming in 2027: ‘Through the Eyes of Wonder.’

First teased in 2016 and later in 2025, Stevie is reportedly putting the final touches on the long-awaited body of work by adding four new tracks.

During an appearance on BBC’s ‘Sidetracked‘ podcast last year, he explained his philosophy on creativity by telling hostess Annie Mac:

“For as long as you breathe, for as long as your heart beats, there’s more for you to do. I’m not gonna stop the gift that keeps pouring through my body.”

He compared making music to an artist who never stops creating.

“As long as you can imagine, as long as you are going to be creative, and as long as you let your mind work, you don’t have to retire.”

Wonder also addressed long-running conspiracy theories about his blindness during a recent tour stop in Wales. He said:

“Shortly after my birth, I became blind. Now, that was a blessing because it’s allowed me to see the world in the vision of truth, of sight. See people in the spirit of them, not how they look.”

With 25 Grammy Awards and a career that has shaped generations, Wonder remains committed to his craft.
