Steve Harvey is sounding off on Diddy, and the message is pointed.

During a recent appearance on the ‘One on One with Kris Fade’ podcast, the comedian and media maestro used the jailed mogul’s downfall as a cautionary tale for young men, especially when it comes to character, ego, and how women are treated.

Reflecting on Diddy’s current prison sentence, Harvey said:

“He’s in prison right now. He was old enough to really get it together, but he didn’t.”

The 69-year-old then stressed that success, women, and power do not excuse mistreatment.

“You have to practice acts of kindness. You’ve got to be a gentleman through it all. Look, man, dude’s going to have more than one chick. Okay, cool. I got that right there. But you don’t have to be abusive with it and abrasive with it.”

Harvey also reflected on the disturbing 2016 hotel surveillance footage of Diddy attacking Cassie Ventura, saying the clip immediately raised bigger questions for him.

“When that video came out … you sitting going, ‘Wait a minute. Hold on, man. What you doing?’ Bro, for you to be a public figure, wrap a towel around yourself, and run down a public hallway, not knowing who’s at that elevator … and that’s your reaction to this girl?

Continuing, candidly, he said:

“So now that’s what we caught on tape. That’s the one that’s on tape. That’s the one that’s out in the public in front of the elevator. My goodness, what’s been going on when you ain’t in front of the elevator? Now you know it’s got to have been magnified back there. So now you’re just not a good person. You can’t run it like that cuz now you got to pay. And the thing about sin is: sin cost you more than you want to pay and make you stay longer than you want to stay. And that’s what he in now.”

Elsewhere, Harvey revealed he intentionally kept his distance from Diddy socially, despite knowing him.

“I knew him, but … it was some things that I had heard about that kept me away from [him]. I got invited. ‘Hey man, we throwing a party.’ ‘Nah.’ You don’t see me nowhere. I don’t go to the white party, the blue party, the pink party, the panty party. I ain’t at nobody’s party. Steve Harvey going home.”

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence at a federal facility in New Jersey after being found guilty on transportation-related prostitution charges tied to his so-called “freak offs.”
