The Records ‘Brand New Day’ Broke

The film’s global launch reached $932 million. That figure ranks second worldwide, trailing only ‘Endgame’ and its $1.2 billion bow.

Domestically, however, the picture swept everything. It claimed the largest preview haul at $72 million. Furthermore, it posted the biggest opening day ever with $169.8 million.

Sony Reacts

Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman celebrated the milestone.

“Records are made to be broken, but we will take great pride in this one, for as long as we hold it.”

He also thanked the filmmakers, actors, producers, and his colleagues at the studio.

A Franchise That Keeps Climbing

This marks the fourth solo outing for Tom Holland as Peter Parker. Destin Daniel Cretton directs, picking up after the events of ‘No Way Home.’

Notably, Holland’s run has grown with every entry. His first solo film opened to $117 million. ‘No Way Home’ then closed with a colossal $1.9 billion worldwide.

Can It Hit $2 Billion?

Word of mouth is euphoric and competition is thin. Consequently, ‘Brand New Day’ looks poised to clear $2 billion globally.

Only seven films in history have ever managed it.
