The rapper’s $4.2 million debt to his ex-girlfriend is growing by approximately $1,165 in daily interest, according to legal documents.

TMZ reports a jury awarded the woman, identified as Jane Doe, nearly $4 million in April 2025. The verdict found Soulja Boy liable for sexual battery, infliction of emotional distress, and other claims stemming from a romantic relationship with his former assistant that turned violent. He has consistently denied all wrongdoing.

The financial situation has become urgent. The woman previously filed a notice to sell Soulja Boy’s rights to BMI music residuals to the highest bidder in order to collect the judgment. Selling the rights would not eliminate his catalogue but would reroute the income it generates through radio, television, and film placements.

Soulja Boy initially faced a $73 million demand in the lawsuit, but the jury ultimately awarded just over $4 million.

The debt continues to climb. If he does not pay soon, he will be forced to “crank that pocketbook much more than his beats”.
