R. Kelly is making another bid for freedom.

The disgraced R&B singer has formally petitioned President Donald Trump to commute his 30-year federal prison sentence.

According to newly surfaced court records, the request was submitted through the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of the Pardon Attorney and is currently listed as pending.

Kelly, born Robert Sylvester Kelly, is serving time after his 2021 conviction on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges in New York, followed by a 2022 conviction on child p*rnography charges in Chicago.

His legal team has repeatedly argued that he has been unfairly treated while incarcerated, previously alleging government misconduct and claiming his safety had been threatened behind bars.

If his request is denied, Kelly is expected to remain in federal prison until 2045, when he will be nearing 80 years old.
