Paris Jackson is drawing a firm line between public life and personal grief.

The daughter of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is opening up about why she no longer feels pressured to publicly showcase her relationship with her father for the world to see.

Speaking candidly on the ‘Trying Not to Die’ podcast with Jack Osbourne, the singer-actress explained that years in the spotlight once made her feel obligated to share deeply personal moments online, especially on major dates tied to her father’s legacy.

Now, though, the 28-year-old says she’s embracing privacy in a whole new way.

During the interview, Jackson revealed that she’s reached what she called a “very beautiful spot” in her relationship with her late father and no longer believes she owes the public access to that bond.

“I’m allowed to be private about it. My relationship is the most beautiful relationship ever. It’s no one’s business.”

The ‘Zombies in Love’ performer also shared that she has intentionally stepped away from making social media tributes on occasions like Father’s Day, birthdays, or anniversaries tied to the Pop icon’s passing.

According to Jackson, she wants any expression of love for her father to feel authentic rather than “performative.”

“I’m not going to express my love in a copycat way… because I did know him. That was my best friend.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, she also addressed long-running assumptions about her upbringing, pushing back on claims that she was simply raised as a “spoiled brat.” Instead, she credited her father with instilling discipline and a strong work ethic from an early age.
