Offset Denies Reports He Was Shot in the Butt As Lil TJay Lawyer Slams Rumors of His Involvement

Former Migos star Offset saw his name soar to the top of headlines Monday night (April 6) after reports surfaced he had been shot in Hollywood, Florida.

The 34-year-old was rushed to a local hospital where he remains under care as of time of this report.

With little information released at the time of the incident, fans and media entities alike began speculating the specifics including who shot the 34-year-old and where on his body the injuries were sustained.

And while Offset (born Kiari Cephus) hasn’t colored in the details much, he’s taken to press to make a few things clear.

In a statement issued to our friends at TNT, Cephus shut down the viral claim from YouTuber Ceedy Nash that he took a bullet in the buttocks.

“I wasn’t shot on my a**,” the ‘Bad & Boujee’ hitmaker revealed without sharing anything else.

The short-and-sweet statement came not long after legal reps for rapper Lil TJay (born Tione Merritt) took to press to shut down a few claims of their own.

“[He] has not been shot, nor has Lil TJay been charged with any shooting,” said Dawn M. Florio, the rapper’s lawyer.

As has made its rounds, TJay was arrested and booked on Monday on charges of disorderly conduct, according to Broward County Jail records.

The police also confirmed Merritt’s detainment was “in connection with the incident” – despite Florio asserting the contrary.

“Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors,” she said.

At writing, the details about TJay’s suspected connection have not been made clear.

After a $3,000 bond was set for his charges, the rapper – who denied shooting Offset – was released Tuesday afternoon (April 7) and took to press to call the Migos star a “rat n*gga.”
