Nic Vansteenberghe stays coy about Olandria Carthen after reuniting at wedding

The former couple attended Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns’ wedding just weeks after announcing their split.

Nic Vansteenberghe had a chance to shut down the speculation, he chose not to.

A day after crossing paths with Olandria Carthen at Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns’ wedding, the “Love Island USA” alum was asked directly whether anything had been rekindled between them.

His answer left the door conspicuously open. “I would love to tell you guys, but I’m going to keep that private for now,” he said at LIV Beach at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Aug. 16, according to E! News. He did confirm the two had a good time at the wedding, calling the night amazing.

The season seven runners-up split last month after more than a year together, but Vansteenberghe made clear he views their ending as a clean one. Asked whether exes can stay friends, he said “absolutely,” with a caveat. “If you end healthily, it’s cool,” he explained. “Sometimes it’s better to maybe not be friends, but in my case, yes. We ended on a good note.”

He was candid about the difficulty of the past few weeks without leaning into it. Offering advice to anyone in the same position, the 25-year-old framed it as a climb rather than a collapse, saying things always improve from rock bottom. Still, he stopped short of embracing single life, telling the outlet it’s “a bit soon.”

The comments arrive roughly three weeks after he confirmed the breakup himself in a message to subscribers, acknowledging the rumors and asking for privacy while stressing the two would continue to care for each other.

Their pairing became one of the season’s most invested-in storylines, particularly after both were slated to exit following Casa Amor eliminations before coupling up instead. Carthen, 27, told Variety last year that the attraction predated all of it, noting she kissed him on day one and that choosing someone else didn’t erase the spark.
