While some are counting the clock tickdowns toward Christmas Queen Mariah Carey‘s annual “it’s time” call at the stroke of midnight on November 1, there’s at least one who is counting the days until she joins the royal ranks of being a season’s reigning monarch: Megan Thee Stallion.

As reported, Stallion (born Megan Pete) trotted to ‘Instyle’ magazine‘s September 2026 issue to discuss everything from new music to that headline-grabbing breakup with NBA star Klay Thompson and much more.

The GRAMMY winner, who has branched out into different business ventures beyond music over the years including stage and film acting, chain restaurant franchising, liquor brands, and more, has her eye on expanding her empire even further.

“I want to be the Mariah of Summer,” said Megan. “I love Mariah Carey.”

Expounding on the thought, Meg was sure to clarify she was not joking.

“I’m not playing,” she added after saying, “Mariah is Christmas. As soon as November starts, we just hear Mariah hit that high note. Boom. That’s her s—.”

The Rap diva wants to garner a similar reaction annually.

“Me, June 21st. As soon as summer starts, boom, [I want it to be] Megan [time],” she shared.

There’s a simple reason Meg feels passionately about this coming to pass.

“I am Hot Girl Summer. So why not have a Hot Girl Universe? I’m going to make it all the things that are in my head and manifest them into my real life,” she told the mag.

In 2019, Meg famously coined the phrase “hot girl summer” and later released a Billboard Hot 100 top 20 hit of the same name featuring (now-nemesis) Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.

By 2026, she had embarked on a North American ‘Hot Girl Summer Tour‘ (2024) and later even launched a line of Hot Girl Summer swimwear and pet products.

While only time will tell if she will rise to become the season’s global queen, the signs suggest she is well on her way to having her wish granted.
