Meek Mill calls out ‘propaganda’ about his career, highlights successes, including impact on justice reform

Rapper Meek Mill is speaking out against what he describes as “propaganda” targeting his career and brand, sharing a series of lengthy posts on social media that have sparked conversation across the hip-hop community.

Meek’s posts are in response to a video clip of Charlamagne Tha God and Andrew Shulz from the March 28th episode of their “Brilliant Idiots” podcast, where Charlamagne claims that Meek Mill never recovered after his battle with Drake over a decade ago. While Charlamagne acknowledged the work Meek has done in the community, particularly around criminal justice reform, he criticized Meek for his continued use of social media, claiming it disrupted any progress he could make by simply releasing music.

In the posts, which circulated widely via Instagram, Meek Mill pushed back on narratives he believes are being used to discredit his success. He pointed to his commercial track record, referencing multiple platinum and gold records, as well as collaborations with major artists including Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Cardi B.

“So I wanna make this a “main post” to highlight the real “propaganda that’s taking place in the hip hop community … I need everyone to leave a comment if you see what what’s happening and how they are trying to downgrade artist brands from feeding they family let’s go through it ..the white comedian also boosted didn’t rumor on his major platform with no evidence then ask me to go on his show …Can yall see my brand back heating up now this, please leave a honest comment,” Meek Mill began.

The Philadelphia rapper also addressed criticism tied to his public commentary on industry issues, suggesting that frequent social media use has been used against him. He claimed that certain narratives have been amplified without evidence, including rumors he says were boosted by high-profile figures.

Meek Mill further highlighted his business efforts, stating he has been involved in technology deals and brand partnerships, while also supporting other artists financially. He emphasized his role in helping emerging talent and contributing to charitable causes, saying he has assisted multiple artists.

A significant portion of his message focused on his advocacy work. Meek Mill has long been associated with criminal justice reform efforts through REFORM Alliance, which he co-founded alongside partners including Jay-Z and entrepreneur Michael Rubin. REFORM Alliance advocates for policy changes that address what it calls a broken supervision system affecting millions of Americans.

In his posts, he referenced raising substantial funds and helping drive changes to probation laws, positioning that work as part of his broader legacy beyond music. According to NBC News, at one event in 2025, Meek Mill helped raise $20 million at a high-profile gala for REFORM Alliance; the funds raised will support ongoing efforts to pass legislation and push reforms aimed at making probation and parole less punitive and more focused on second chances.

“And it’s amazing in the only rapper with a foundation that raised over 50m changing laws and helping restructure the probation system with a big ga- campaign on him and campaigns he tweet too much that’s all algorithm speech … never let them silence you! It cannot effect me I am the one one! But yall know dat,” he concluded.
