Lizzo “Can’t Wait” for That Sexual Harassment Lawsuit to Be Dismissed, But Still Refuses to Settle: “The Truth Will Come Out”

‘Truth Hurts’ hitmaker Lizzo believes the truth will prevail in that ongoing legal battle with her former backup dancers.

That very belief, as indicated via a recent sit-down chat with ‘CBS Mornings,’ is what’s keeping her from settling the case so that it will all go away.

In an exclusive interview with resident anchor Gayle King, Lizzo (born Melissa Jefferson) sat down with ‘CBS Mornings’ to discuss everything from body positivity and her highly publicized weight loss journey to her forthcoming ‘B*tch‘ album and – of course – those pesky sexual harassment allegations.

“Most people would [settle],” she told King on Tuesday’s episode (May 4). “I think it is an easy out, but I’m fighting the case because I know that it’s not true.”

As previously reported, Jefferson was sued by her former backup dancers in 2023 on allegations of sexual harassment and toxic workplace conditions. She continues to deny the claims.

“I cannot wait for it to be dismissed,” she said before sharing, “The truth will come out. And that’s why I’m not afraid of it. The truth is less salacious than the headlines.”

While the results of this case are pending, Liz can boast at least one legal victory so far as accusations that the GRAMMY winner fat-shamed those dancers were dismissed by a judge last December.
