It looks like the UK vs. US Rap battle is getting started! For,  Joyner Lucas just dropped ‘Nobody Cares,’ his response to Skepta‘s ‘Friendly Fire’ diss towards him. And it’s safe to say the emcee didn’t mince words.

This morning (July 15), Lucas released his response to the UK rapper, who kicked this off in a tweet on X about wanting to initiate a UK vs. US rap “beef”. He wrote:

“I wanna clash an American rapper anyway, finally get this UK/US rap debate sorted.”

With the US rapper responding back, tweeting:

‘The moment I’ve been waiting for… the word, Joyner Lucas vs @Skepta #UKvsUS’.

The ‘Greaze Mode’ emcee clapped back by saying he’d reference the ‘I’m Not Racist’ rapper in a diss intended for A$AP Rocky. He says:

“You may cut the numbers out there and I respect it. So, when I make my diss track for Rocky, I’m gonna give you two bars and then make one of the young Gs just rub you out… I didn’t do the work that I did for Jonah Lucas just to be saying my name anyhow. I got diss track on YouTube with 30 million views, no ad-libs. It’s levels, bro.”

The London native kept his promise as he dropped his ‘Friendly Fire’ diss on July 10 aimed at the ‘Snitch’ emcee and challenging his status in the US Rap game. He raps:

“Praise the lord, you want beast? Then I’ve got this. You haven’t had a hit song for the longest. Too concerned with your clothes. Should be focusin’ on flows. Where I’m from, I’m a GOAT. Where you’re from, you’re a joke.”

The Massachusetts native then posted a reaction video to his Instagram listening to the diss track and declared, “say less my boy”.

He hit back with the same intensity and went into attack mode. He raps:

“I know you putting your flag all on your back. Now you gotta carry it.  If somebody holding it down, it shouldn’t be you. It’s time to be serious. I know you hate being home, you come to the States and try to be arrogant. I bet you sit in your room and secretly wish that you was American…Everyone back in your county looking at you like you an embarrassment.” 

Now, while the “beef” seems heated, it’s anything but that. Indeed, the Tottenham DJ clarified that it was just a friendly sparring and a Rap battle rather than personal animosity.
