Layzie Bone opens up about being removed from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s tour with Wu-Tang Clan

The group’s co-founder says he was packed and ready to join the Wu-Tang Clan tour before learning he would not be participating.

Layzie Bone says he did not voluntarily walk away from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s current tour with Wu-Tang Clan, claiming he learned he would not be joining the road run only shortly before it began.

The rapper addressed the situation in an Instagram video after fans questioned why he was missing from the lineup for the North American leg of “Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber.” Live Nation originally announced Bone Thugs-N-Harmony as a special guest for the 2026 tour—Layzie Bone iis one of the group’s founders.

According to Complex, Layzie said he had packed his bags, prepared new merchandise and expected to perform before receiving a call or text informing him otherwise. He characterized the communication surrounding the tour as inadequate and said he had been trying to get clarity about the group’s business.

“I was totally left in the dark,” Layzie said in the video.

His comments come after what he described as tensions within Bone Thugs-N-Harmony earlier this year. Layzie acknowledged that he had missed some previous performances but said he believed relations had improved following the group’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in July.

He stopped short of attacking his bandmates, instead insisting that he still considers them family.

“I love my brothers,” he said, while making clear that he wants the other members to explain why he was removed from the tour.

The situation is notable because the current run was initially promoted as a major collaboration between two foundational hip-hop groups. Wu-Tang Clan’s North American tour began Aug. 27 and is scheduled to continue through Oct. 4, with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony billed as the special guest.

Layzie also rejected suggestions that he had simply chosen not to participate. He said he would not have turned down the opportunity to join the tour and questioned why fans were directing their frustration toward him.

As of Sept. 8, the other Bone Thugs-N-Harmony members have not publicly offered a detailed explanation for Layzie’s absence.
