Laura Loomer’s racist attacks on Angie Nixon and other prominent Black women draw backlash

Nixon fired back at the far-right activist as Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly condemned Loomer’s remarks as “nasty” and “hateful.”

Far-right activist Laura Loomer targeted Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon and several other Black women in a string of racist and sexist posts, prompting a public rebuke from former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Loomer’s latest racist tirade follows a similar attack on Rep. Jasmine Crockett last year, when Loomer used racist stereotypes against the Texas Democrat.

The Advocate reported Sunday that Loomer posted a video Friday naming Nixon, U.S. Reps. Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley, former Rep. Cori Bush and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. She described the five women as “ghetto, entitled, race-obsessed, destructive Black b—hes” and claimed they were unfit for the power they hold.

Nixon, a Jacksonville state representative who recently won Florida’s Democratic U.S. Senate primary, fired back by referencing a 2024 promotional video in which Loomer ate a dog-food topper on camera. Nixon also invoked Queen Latifah’s famous “Who you calling a b—h?” line.

Loomer then escalated the exchange, invoking “Ebonics” and telling Nixon she might need to bark at her and tug her leash for the lawmaker to understand. When Nixon told Loomer to address her as “Representative,” Loomer responded with another racial stereotype.

Loomer’s posts drew condemnation from Greene, who resigned from Congress in January after a public split with President Donald Trump. Greene wrote that she “1000%” denounced Loomer’s “nasty, hateful” and racist comments, adding that such rhetoric should never be tolerated.

Greene also blamed Trump and the Republican Party for keeping Loomer close to the president. Trump has publicly praised Loomer and met with her at the White House, though she holds no official government position.

Loomer continued attacking both Nixon and Greene on Sunday and said she stood by her remarks.

Nixon defeated retired Army Lt. Col. Alex Vindman in Florida’s Democratic primary and will face Republican Sen. Ashley Moody in November. If elected, Nixon would become the first Black person to represent Florida in the U.S. Senate.
