G-Eazy is entering a new chapter.

After more than a decade in the major-label system, the Bay Area rapper is taking a different route and joining forces with Ty Dolla $ign for a new West Coast-centered partnership.

The move sees G-Eazy partner with Ty’s EZMNY Records and independent label and distributor EMPIRE.

It marks his first step outside the major-label system in over a decade, following six albums released through RCA Records.

According to Billboard, the partnership is designed to keep the rapper rooted on the West Coast while affording him greater creative freedom.

Explaining the decision, G-Eazy said:

“To me, this is bigger than a deal. This is about bringing it all home. Literally. After spending over a decade signed to a major label and bringing so many of my dreams to life, the one dream I never let go of was to work with my friends where we collectively and culturally prioritized both creativity and music first.”

He also praised Ty, calling him a “real friend” and “one of the most talented musicians I’ve ever met.”

Ty and business partner Shawn Barron added that the deal demonstrates how “two forward-thinking independent labels can join forces to redefine what a joint venture can look like in 2026.”

And the partnership is already yielding new music.

G-Eazy and Ty will release ‘JFK‘ on September 25, after debuting the track during a surprise performance at Ty’s Madison Square Garden show last weekend.

The single follows G-Eazy’s ‘Pretty Girls,’ which arrived last month.
